GSEREP1 here to report a 2010 GS350 purchase on
1. RWD
2 MERCURY METALLIC SILVER
3 BLACK INTERIOR
4. 18 Inch Wheels
5. Spoiler
6. Replaced 2nd Generation GS400 1999 purchased 6/2003 sold 6/2013
7. 1999 GS 400 had 59,000 miles at purchase, 289,000 miles at sale.
8. 2010 GS350 certified 33,000 miles purchase price 31,495.00 on 6/26/2013.
9. Since purchase, front pads and rotors replaced under recall. Rear pads and rotors replaced by owner due to dissatisfaction with braking action and flutter in rotors.No satisfaction with dealership, so I absorbed the cost.
10. Complained about engine noise on startup since 7/2013. Engine to be repaired 10/21/2013 @Lexus Escondido, California near San Diego.(selling dealership).
11. This is 3rd GS. FIRST WAS ALSO 1999 GS400. PURCHASED 9/2002. Totaled 5/2003.

Late filing my vehicle
2010 GS 350 is a constant surprise. Smoother and quicker than older GS400 cars. More sophisticated electronics, feel and operation. Fuel mileage less than old cars in town, but better on the highway. Best mileage is 35.1 mpg on trip to Las Vegas. Fuel mileage computation not accurate on navigation. Reads nearly 0 miles remaining, but only takes 15.5 gallons to fill up. Better transmission on new car...(6speed vs 5). Stronger acceleration after take off.
Not as easy to work on as older car under the hood. Engine much noisier and rougher at idle. I hope the recall will fix this.
I am not a fan of the electric power steering. Complex system, high replacement cost. Time will tell if it lasts as long as other 2 cars.
Does anyone have a clue as to where the starter is on the GS350 engine?

New-to-me 2009 GS 350 - 6841 miles !
Hi all!
I have a 2009 GS 350 that I just got this week.
It is mercury metallic with light gray leather interior. It is loaded with all kinds of fun stuff like Nav, Bluetooth wireless, heated seats, memory seats. It has a little turned-up spoiler.
My previous car was disintegrating in front of me, so I decided to just check out the Internet deals at the nearby Lexus dealers. This was a CPO and it only had 6841 miles on it...REALLY!
I didn't know much about the GS, but when I went to see it, I really liked it. There were some cosmetic issues with scratches on the bumpers and minor scratches on the body. They repainted the bumper, color buffed the scratches and put on a Zxilon coating. The car looks amazing and it has the 3-yr/100K warranty.
KBB reported that this year and model is about $33K if in excellent condition. I searched on several websites, and couldn't find any 2009s under $30K (all had much higher mileage.)
I ended up getting this sexy auto for under 30K including California tax and license. Woo hoo!
Very happy, so far. I have noticed the louder-than-normal engine noise. I don't hear it sitting in the car. But when I got it home and listened to it when my husband was driving, I got concerned. I've noticed a lot of discussion on the boards about that. Someone mentioned a possible recall to fix it? Has that been resolved?
Anyway, thank you for the welcome. I'm looking forward to meeting and learning from you.

Hi, I just joined a few days ago. Been browsing and doing a little research as I am new to the Lexus scene. Just picked up a 2006 GS300 AWD. Currently in the shop for the piston recall I've been reading about, so I've only actually driven my car for 2 days.
