IIRC Black Obsidian was a 2007 GS450h color. Black Opal was a 2008-2011 (for 3GS) GS450h only color. Not available on the GS450/GS350.
So considering how few 2008 (721) GSh and 2009-2011 even less GSh it becomes a VERY rare car with that color.
Here is my GSh in Black Opal.

go to lexusowners https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers and register your car and it will list all service history with lexus, options, manuals, you can even order the owners manuals free. The color of the car is listed there.
my car looks black most of the time in daylight but night the purple shows up.

That looks great. At least looking at touch up paint it would seem obsidian also existed in 2011, I believe mine is that one since it's more of a pure black and doesn't change color when the light hits it like the Black Opal. I didn't realize how rare the 450h was. I figured the numbers were at least in the thousands but looks like mine is one of a few hundred. I love everything about mine so far.

I just checked. It is Obsidian. I've never had a black car before. It's pretty but thinking it'll be more maintenance to keep it looking good. Polishing and Waxing helped but it probably has a few spots that need touch up paint or repolishing.

I’ve got a LOT of work to do on mine this year. I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. So fun…..
Awesome, would love to compare Obsidian to Opal.
I’m west of Chicago suburbs if you get out this way!

Just got my first Lexus!
- 2008 GS 350
- 180k miles
- V6 AWS
- Matador Red exterior, tan interior
- Some crappy aftermarket rims and bald tires
- Nav, heated & cooled seats
- Decent amount of wear and tear. It's going to be a daily so not an issue.
- Paid $5.5k
VIN number is JTHCE96SX80016356 in case anyone wants to rummage around the service history
I just did the super basics: oil, brake flush and new pads. But there's a long tail of things that it needs to get sorted, some of which are quite pricey:
- suspension: it still has the original struts, they're pretty destroyed. does anyone have recs for aftermarkets that are good but don't cost an arm and a leg? I'm open to lowering a bit or a slightly stiffer ride, although I wouldn't pay extra for that
- tires: I'm going to need a good set of all-seasons since I'm in the midwest
- tpms is broken. I think I'll try to get it sorted when I get new tires, otherwise live with it
- fluids: it looks like the water pump was replaced at ~100k along with the coolant. I think I should be okay on coolant then right? what about transmission/diff, should I get those done?
- engine: does this car need spark plugs changed regularly? valve adjustments? I used to own an S2000 and 10k valve adjusment were key.
- any TSBs I should be aware of or get done? obviously no warranty so this would be out of pocket

Congrats.
Satin Cashmere Metallic, that must be an extremely rare color. I can't say that I've ever seen a GS in that color. I know that I've certainly never seen one in person.

Color code = 4U7
Color code = 4U7
Color code for 2010 Lexus GS350.
Interior is parchment. I already put some seat covers on to protect the leather seats.
