Originally I was told 7 inch monitors would not fit. After the installer looked they said not a problem.
Had to leave town for a couple of days. I will post pistures and update after monitors get completed.

Wait, Wait, Wait
Having a few problems with NAV properly. I think we have change the way we did the override.
Goes in tomorrow and I will have them figure it out. Once working properly I will post all info.

Is the Nav not traveling through the map while driving? If this is the case, the wrong wire has been grounded/cut. However, this may mean you can input destinations and dial phone numbers while driving, so you might consider having them make this a switch you can temporarily activate and then deactivate once you've done your business while driving.
You'll still need two other wires for the DVD. They are separate from the above function, assuming of course I'm on track with what's going on.

nav dvd override
Well the DVD player works only when the parking brake is engaged. Even if it is in gear, the picture displays, but as soon as the parking brake is released, the picture reverts to the nav screen. So I"m thinking there must be a single wire attached to the parking brake that needs to be grounded, right? I'm not concerned with trying to use the nav system while the vehcle is in motion, just have dvd picture while moving.
Has anyone pulled the panels and investigated the parking brake for the wire yet?

It still knows it is in motion and POI and Addresses can not be used. The route guidence was not working and the route change if driving the wrong direction did not update. I dropped it off today and they felt confident to fix it.
On our Landcruiser I purchase a switch that allows you to inout info will driving, but you would have to switch back to have the map catch up to where you really are.
I will keep you updated.

I ordered the Electrical Wiring Diagram (EWD)--Detailed circuit diagrams electrical component locations for the 06 GS. I was told the service manual is not yet available.

So I looked quickly at the handbrake and the switch connects to the Nav/display system, the Body ECU, and the Skid sensor in parallel. So it will be necessary to cut the line that feeds only the Nav system (leave the connections between the switch and the others intact), but before doing so, check the "brake switch open" voltage at the line so that when a pullup voltage is added, it is to the correct voltage. It might be 12v, but it might be less. I plan to put this switch in the center console in place of the little coin holder.
Of course there may be more to it than just this line. For example the Nav system also receives a speed sensitive signal from gauge cluster. Maybe it knows when the car is moving or not, even if the parking brake is not engaged? Not too easy to guess as I don't have my car yet--but at least the factory accepted the order officially.
