Default Questions about HIDs after car turns off

right now, my HIDS are programmed to stay on for 30 seconds after the car turns off, which is a pretty cool feature i must say...really brings attention to the car.

Questions:

1) Will this drain the battery a lot? I know HIDs use less power than conventional headlamps. So i think it might be ok

2) Is there a way to set less than 30 seconds? I heard that my choices are 30 seconds, 60 seconds, and 90 seconds. btw, who would choose the 90 second option anyway?

3) When the trunk is open, the HIDs stay on, is there a way to disable this? Sometimes it takes me 5 min to bring in bags of stuff i bought, don't want the HIDs staying on for that long.

1) No it will not.

2) Check to see if you can have your C-Best settings adjusted. Once again consult Elizabeth or your service consultant for that.

3) Simple fix, turn the headlights to OFF on the control stalk before you exit your vehicle.

If the new GS is like the other Lexus models (i have an 04 LS430) then:

1. I do not know. But I'm curious why Flipside909 seems so sure that it does not drain the battery (decrease battery life in the long run).
2. The only other option that you did not list was 0 seconds. It turns off immediately when you stop the ignition. OR, you could press "LOCK" on the SmartKey twice to lock and turn off the headlights.
3. I don't think there's a way to disable the trunk causing the lights to stay on -- there are only work-arounds.

You should go to your dealer and obtain a brochure for customized settings so that you can set all of your CBEST settings how you would like all at once (the first time is free)..
