I did take it on the highway for the first time today. (I had a demo on the highway - but first time for my car). The extra HP/torque + 6 speed make a lot of difference. Feels rock-solid at 100mph. The car is eager to go from 60-80 and doesn't feel like it is straining to make the sprint.

Definitely right. The tranny is intelligent as the name implies = ECT-i (Electronically Controlled Transmission w/Intelligence). Fuzzy logic technology works!

As Rockville said, for Gen 3, Lexus must have been listening to the performance enthusiasts and the Software prop-heads delivered!!!

Since then i've had a 1995 Avalon XLS with the ECT PWR switch and now my 04 IS w/the same switch. Lexus did a great job of improving on the ECT PWR shift programs for the 06 GS.
