While flipping channels between Chris Rock's (TheGap: War )...Funny stuff. There was a weird commercial that came on, can't remember which channel. Anyway some lady pushing a start button on a car and it turns out to be 2006 Lexus GS. Not a very memorable commercial. Kinda reminded me of the Infiniti commercials from the early 80's except they actually showed the car this time. One thing I did notice is listening to the soundtrack of the engine it sounded like it accelerated as if it had a manual transmission. You hear the engine go up in rpm and drop pause next gear and accelerate again. It sounded like shifting of manual gears too me. Let me know what you all think when you see it. Then again, could have been the GIN I was drinking to numb the pain of knowing I was probaly the only straight black man in america watching oscar. But Just to prove Chris Rock wrong.
Then again I like buffy and angel series too. I think I need help.

Okay, I didn't realize they was putting a manual in the GS. I must have missed during my reading of the product broshures. I have to check. But that would explain the commercial. Stil think the commercial didn't do the car justice. I personally thought it was weak. But I think was geared toward a more mature crowd than I. But again, still sound like someone was driving stick and clutch rather manumatic transmission. I have driven them seq shifts and never heard such a noticable drop in rpm. Oh well, just a observation. With only 22k on my GS430 it will be several years before I even think of looking at a new GS. Or Infiniti for that matter.

It was a black GS 300 AWD driving in the snow, and it showed the push start button.
It looked raw.

You just see the driver clicking up gears ( + - on the shifter below).

Another commercial on CNBC - starts out with underwater divers swimming through a tunnel, going through a hatch and finding a "START" button. That launches the commercial with a silver GS430. Looks like the commercials begin with an odd entry up to the point of the "START" button. Clever but you might tune out until you realize what you're seeing; by then you've missed the first part.
