So this workaround doesn't end up with the NAV system getting "confused" b/c it can't read wheel movement? There are NO other side effects?
What about Bluetooth (I know you're checking)? Perhaps there is another wire coming out of the loom that needs to be cut and bypassed?
Do I understand properly that the Parking Brake Indicator light will no longer function? Probably not a bad tradeoff unless you valet your car alot.

Let me know if bluetooth works, if so I'll make and apt and head down there this weekend. If I read correctly, if you do this procedure, and press down the the brake pedal, the brake light won't light up. Correct?

The Bluetooth works perfectly.
The navigation system works perfectly. The navi is receiving VSS. There are no glitches in displaying the vehicle position and movement.
And the parking brake indicator functions just as before, light comes on when the brake is applied and off when it is released. The monitor needs a ground signal to view DVD, and that's all we've done.. give it a ground signal.. constantly. The parking brake signal to the indicator is not modified. The indicator still receives ground signal just like before.

Ok Scareyh22, can you figure this one out? I completed your mod and double checked my work. The DVD and phone entry via the touch screen work at speed, but the Nav input does not.
Any ideas??
thanks.

I dont think this fix will allow nav input while driving. You need to read this thread.

Synopsis>
Now you should be able to watch movies and input commands into the navigation while in motion. There should be no parking brake indicator light on the gauge cluster. And there should be proper VSS signal reaching the navigation unit. All with absolutely no switches needed.

based on this quote from Scarey, I thought it should have
