Purchased
06 GS300 RWD in Crystal White with Cashmere interior.
Bought stock chrome wheels, clear shield for the front bumper/hood and
3M window tint. Ok, now back to work so I can save for the next Lexus.
No nav or ML. Waiting on the clear shield before taking delivery this week.
Oh and yes this is my first Lexus.

Congrats. Sounds like a great color combination.
I talked to my dealer about the Clear Sheild because of the high miles that I rack up and he recommended against it. He said that two problems can occur. First the Clear Shield will tend to yellow over time. When you have had enough of the yellow look and replace the Clear Chield it is hard to get it to go back over the exact same surface.
Second the paint under the Clear Shield will oxidize and age differently than the rest of the car. This second condition is something that is happening on a smaller scale to lots of cars that put the magnetic ribbons on their cars and never remove and clean under them. Clear Shield is different that these stick on ribbons but the effect can be similar.
I'm sure that there are those that will disagree btu I am only reporting what my Lexus guy told me.

It is a tedious process to heat and lay the clear shield layer down and skill is required. I haven't had a problem with yellowing in our region but Texas is closer to the Equator. It is pretty effective and popular on the SC430's. You can't see it until you get about three feet away. Crystal White reflects so much light that it may not be as necessary. Expect to get a lot of stares because there aren't that many GS's in circulation yet. After it's broken in you can chase Tornadoes all you want! Enjoy.....
