Does that rocker switch fit in there PERFECTLY (nice and snug)? Or did you have to do something special to get it secure? Just curious! Looks like it fits perfectly...kinda in awe at your work actually

Another question being as you're a Lexus tech... I see how easily the center console comes off. I am getting a Blk/Blk Gs 430 and want to change my wood from red to black. I see that I can now do the center. Do you know if possible the door trim pieces can be removed and replaced too, or is that part of the door that cannot be changed. If so, that would just leave the steering wheel and shifter, right? Thanks.

Is there anybody who could explain me why we Europeans won't get DVD with the ML system?
The pic is from a loaded 430, and only the Mark Levinson sign there, no DVD, DTS and those other goodies written on the unit... And as we have huge traffic jams, sometimes even of 1 hour long ones, some DVD entertainment would come handy. No sense for installing two different ML's.

Don't worry guy I did some research and reading the Repair Manual before I started to tear up my own car with 26 miles on it...
I didn't take the picture of the connector that I bypass, because I believe it's legal issue. I just did this on my own car and no one can sue me or CL...
I have to installed the rocker switch for the speed sensor to turn it on or off. The advantage of this mod for the 2006 GS are.
1. The passenger can enter the destination on the nav while the vehicle is moving.
2. I can go to " My phone boook" on the Bluetooth screen and make a call while the vehicle is moving.
3. DVD bypass is nothing new to me if you know my 2001 GS430 that I did the bypass with rear camera back in 2002.
Why do I need to turn it on or off with the rocker switch?
Because, if I turn it off the nav will not know that the vehicle is moving( disconnected the input from the speed sensor to Nav ECU). I've tried this morning going to work with speed sensor turn off, the nav screen show almost correct location, but the street name is show the street in my subdivision. As soon as I turn the switch back on( connected the speed sensor to the nav), it took about 5 seconds for the car figure it out and show the correct location and street name. I dont' have time to play with the fuel consumption info yet, but the " Cruising Range" on the instrument cluster and the one on the " Trip Info" are show the same numbers.

Sue you? You should be the one to sue Lexus for the need to bypass the speed sensor.
Really, you don't see the warning message or anyting that prevents you from operating the
third party NAV. So I have no clue as to why Lexus has to put this restriction. What about the
NAV from BMW and Benz? I don't believe they have this restriction.

I too have black/black with red wood. But I prefer ash or grey wood. Oh well..
