How much should I pay for the 2006 GS 300?
I live in California, and the new 2006 GS 300 (Rear Wheel Drive) comes standard with the moon roof and high density lights.
I don't want the following options:
1) navigation system
2) upgraded sound
3) back up camera
4) upgraded wheels
I do want the following:
1) floor mats
2) trunk and cargo mats
3) wheel locks
I think the dealer also charges a few hundred dollars for "advertising fees".
A few questions:
1) What is the dealer invoice price for the 2006 GS 300?
2) Does the dealer get about $2000 rebate from Lexus for the car?
3) How much should I offer the dealer for the "out of the door price", before taxes, with the about criteria?
thanks.

Let me put it this way.....
First:
You are looking for a totally base car that is 43,550 including shipping. THat is the MSRP for the totally true base car. The moonroof is not standard. Yes - u will not find a GS withoutt that because they are being sent from the factory with that as one of the options.- but it IS an OPTION. The HID however is standard on all GS's
Second:
The way they are sending GS's from the factory is equipped with some minimum options, or the fully loaded version. These options for the minimum options would be ventilated seats, Adaptive front lighting system with rainsensing wipers, power rear sunshade, moonroof, . The rear spoiler is coming with them and also coming without them. Fully loaded would just add Mark Levinson audio, and navigation with rear backup camera.
Third:
If you walk in there and say you are going to pay a couple of hundred over invoice, you ill make a fool of yoruself bro. There are people paying MSRP for the car, in fact 99 percent of all people on this forum who have bougth and others out of the forum - have bought the new GS's for either MSRP or a hundred or two hundred below MSRP. However, as of right now - you CAN get a $1000 discount off of MSRP on a new GS. If you physically go in and do somethign serious and make a REASONABLE offer, they will try and work with you to make you happy. The MSRP for the minimum equipped GS3RWD is 45,679 wthout the spoiler.. If you were to walk in and do a physical deal on any GS3, they would probably take off 1500 bucks. However, a REASONABLE offer on this car would be $42,000. You probably may not be able to get it but it is a good starting point. They will work with you to see what is possible and not.
Fourth:
Invoice pricing for a TRUE base GS3RWD car is about 37000. With those minimum options, you are looking at about 38,000-38500. Right now you wont be able to find a true base car at any dealership, so you would have to settle for the minimum equipped options car, unless you custom ordered the base car at the dealer - then you would be waiting 3 months on it. Anyways, dont think invoice or anythign a few hundred over invoice right now cuz it will not happen. Its an extreemely HOT car out right now and probably is the most hottest car out in the US.

Its been about 4 months since the 2005 LS430 has been out and the average discount that is granted is between 3000-4000 dollars off. And that is a 60-65000 dollar car. If you use the same ratio to approximate what SHOULD be the discount in - 4-5 months..i would guess 2500-3000 dollars. But you also have to realize there are more GS buyers than LS buyers and it is an '06 model that is redesigned, etc.
However i think it would be safe to say that 2500-3000 should be the discount in around August time.
