I just say the GS430 commercial with the GS hauling *** down a street. I noticed that the exhaust note is VERY aggressive under acceleration. Now what i was wondering is if the note is ACTUALLY like that on the new GS or if its just for the commercial. It also has the whine of a Super Charger on the commercial which makes me think they may have used the tone of another car... Hmmm anyone have a video or sound file of a stock Third Gen GS????

I agree. The 430 has a nice growl the 300 is not as loud.

 

I’ve heard allot of people saying that the 430 is quiet. I disagree. When I get on the car it has a nice growl to it. I don't would a $60,000 car to sound like a lawnmower.

 

yes, the 430 cabin is very quiet when cruising. but the acceleration has a nice growl, as in the commercial. the commercials i have seen of the 430 in action are pretty accurate, even down to the engine noise. the growl is much more pronounced in the 3rd gen GS than in the 2nd gen 430, but in a good way. i like it a lot, even though i'm not a particularly aggressive driver.

 

I can also say the 430 has a much nicer, more aggressive growl than the 300. That was the first thing that I noticed when I drove it. It is very nice sound, and much needed as this car is indeed quiet!

 

Very nice sounding exhaust system. Authoritave and pronounced, yet the GS cabin does a good job of taming it too.

I'm not so sure that it is fake. Our prespective INSIDE the car is very different from the sound OUTSIDE. I mean the sound suppression is incredible. I don't have a clue as to how much noise is actually taking place on the outside. I absolutely love the sound of my GS430 and the commercials sound a lot like my car.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!! 318,000 miles on ya old car????? I didnt know cars could last that long. lol. Man I am sure you've got a hellova lotta stories to tell with that. Probably broke your heart to part.

 

That's the real actual exhaust note. It actually sounds twice as pronounced on SanseiGS43's 06 w/the custom Hiper Carbon Ti exhausts.

The commercial is definitely fake. You can hear the engine accelerating and transmission obviously shifting. Meanwhile the car in the commercial is just cruising.

I do believe the 430 made those sounds, but they weren't recorded with that video. Instead, they mic'd the car probably on a track, and layed the audio into the commercial later.

 

For those of you who normally don't drive with the sunroof open, give it a try. The growl from the exahust is heard much clearer under those conditions.
