Question 3 GS Vs. LF-S. similarites/differences

I thought I would share. Maybe this is new, maybe not; But nonetheless I thought it is worth posting.

Comapre for Yourself. I think the GS is the LF-S incarnate. They alsmot seem identical in styling terms. What do you think?

Considder the similar/same:
Rear-side window chrome trim
How shadows fall/ reflections glare
placement of wheels
shape of front bumper and foglight insert similarities
side profile
window shapes
"continuous hood" (hood extends to back seamlessly from side)
virtually no back deck lid
rounded tail bumber
lower door indent
door shape
accentuated constant trimline from lower front bumber, over the wheels, past doors, to rear
same proportions

Differences:
GS has more visible trim sections
GS panels farther apart than LF-S
LF-S has no door handles
LF-S has camera-type side mirrors
taillamps

NOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Which do you like better?
Any ideas how these minor differences came about?

I thought you guys might enjoy, I sure had a little fun.

Yes, the LF-S really showed how the GS would look and is a very interesting, swoopy design. The production car looks like nothing else on the planet and the reviews have all loved the design, including winning a European Design award.

I was SO happy to see the IS was not just a smaller version of the GS but its own interpretation of L-finesse.

i like the design of the new gs but i wish they just kept the concept design, it is so much nicer and sportier.

^^^
Hopefully!

On the turnstiles at the LA Auto Show, the LF-S and GS looked quite similar, especially when rotating in seemingly opposite directions (when viewed from different angles); especially the loop at the aft of the bonnett.

I'm wondering whether C & D was right, the new GS is a 'transition' in L-Finesse, to be more dramatic with each new Lexus model.

When I first saw the LF-S, just like earlier models (that crossover concept, LF-X I think), I felt the Lexus badge looked out of place. I thought, COOL car, but is it a Lexus? That's when I realized how Lexus, despite the beautiful lines of the LS 400 which was truly a work of art when it came out, and stll is, has been very beautiful yet somewhat bland.

With the new GS, suddenly the L-logo seems like it belongs in place now. I realize that with L-Finesse we, the Lexus consumer, are embarking on an artistic journey--sculptural, and photographic..where previous hints--the curvature and posture of the ES, the sharp prow of the RX, the smooth 'BOSS' look of the LS...all will mature into a cohesive Lexus look.

They do share similar resemblances
However, the LF-S ears (side mirrors) are pretty small, too small as a matter of fact

They are cameras. The center screen has 3 views... left, right and straight rear mirrors awesome concept, but we can never be too safe =P I'm sure that won't kick in for a while...

Rumors say the LF-S was the inspiration for the next LS. It's too extreme of a difference (I think LS buyers are a bit more conservative). The car seems to have relation to all the redesigns, so far... I can't wait for the SC... I hope it's a Targa Top Coupe AND a hardtop convertible!
