Unhappy GS 300 Bluetooth Verizon Palm 650 Problem

I love my GS 300. Verizon finally released their version of the Treo 650 (with Bluetooth). Unfortunately, my GS 300 and Treo 650 will not speak to one another. I spoke to the Lexus people who say that Verizon in the problem. I tried a Verizon V710 and it appeared to work OK so Verizon is not the problem. Has anyone had success hooking up a Verizon Treo 650 to the GS 300?

What "doesn't work?" Will it not pair? I have a SonyEricsson P910a and at first I thought it wouldn't work. When I would try to pair it the phone would say it paired but the car would just sit there waiting for it to pair and never do anything. I almost gave up.

But, even though the car never said it paired (when the phone said it did) it actually worked. So what seems to be your problem with the Treo 650?

There is another thread in this forum that said he had to get a patch put on his Treo 650 for it to work with the GS. Keep up the status on this thread I am getting that phone soon. I have a GS430.

The Treo 650 says fine "I'm ready" but my GS 300 does not acknowledge. I tried to use the phone after that and it did not work. The GS 300 and the Motorola phone i connected went through a whole process on the Nav screen which indicated they were working together. Any ideas?

I've had the Verizon Treo 650 for about 4 days now and have experienced no problems. The only issue was my own fault. I mistakenly transferred the wrong number to the car and had to change it. I thought I could hit the "replace #" key and I was very wrong. The whole directory deleted and I had to start over. What a pain!!!!! :chairshot:

The bluetooth almost always automatically connects and everyone can hear me very well. Very easy to set up!!!!!!

Can you explain how you paired up your Verizon Treo to the lexus BT. I've been trying since yesterday without any luck. I even went back to the dealer and they couldn't get it either. I pair with my motorola BT headset no problem. When I try to pair with the car, the phone seems to see the car and I enter the passkey, but the car never sees the phone.

I found the solution on another forum. After you enter the passkey into the phone, the lexus will still say "waiting for connection", but it's really connected. It is recommended that at that point you use the phone to make an outgoing call. The lexus will pick up the call and broadcast through the stereo. From this point forward, the system should work automatically and the two devices should pair up every time you get into the car without you having to do anything.

BTW..the signal strength meter still isn't active.

That's exactly how I did it. The key is to make an outgoing call right away. If the phone doesn't show, go into phone settings in the car and select the phone manually. It will automatically connect. I was told by palm one that it is possible that some downloaded applications may interfere, or even a hotsync... If this happens, simply delete the bluetooth connection manually from the phone, then go back through the add a phone process. I had to do this once about a week ago and have no problems automatically connecting every time I get in the car.

My friend has a 650 and an 05 Acura TL. They worked sporadically when he first got the car but definitely not reliably. I saw a link on treocentral.com for an update Sprint recently released for the 650 that would fix the issue and ever since he installed the new update it has worked seemlessly. I'm not sure if this same update helps with the GS or M, but it's worth a try.

I know one of the last things my sales guy said when I was leaving the dealership was to check back with him in a while when I'm ready to get a bluetooth enabled phone to see which ones work with the GS.. I've got Nextel and don't have much choice yet, so it's not a biggie for me now..

Yeah, it worked.

Were you able to transfer your contact list? If so, how did you do that?

Default Verizon Treo 650 working on 2006 GS 300 AWD

I followed the advice on this thread and my Verizon Treo 650 is working with my 2006 GS 300. I am having trouble with transferring my phone book from my Treo to the GS. Any thoughts?
