anti chip paint?

Hi guys,

I was just surfing around the Lexus website in Singapore, and under the features, I found something called "Anti-Chip Paint".

Does anyone know what that is? I tried seaching for it in the US Lexus website, but found nothing.

If they have this 'anti chip paint', wouldn't this make all that clear bra / paint protective films redundant?

Maybe Lexus is using certain regions to test new product options.

I've seen this used on areas such as rocker panels and lower fender areas behind the wheels where stones are thrown. It makes the paint somewhat ripply so it is not suitable for the main body areas.
