[QUOTE=E55_POWER]Here's a try....
Hit MENU button on the right side of screen you should come to this window.
![](http://www.novadatacom.com/lexus/1.jpg)
Click on Volume. Once in the Volume MENU, click on top left where the picture of the speaker is
Then Click on bottom left (I know there's nothing there but click on it
Then Click on top left again, the picture of the speaker
Then Click on the bottom left again
It should bring you the SERVICE MENU
Once here, click on OVERRIDE but keep holding it til you here a beep. Once you hear a beep, the OVERRIDE should be highlighted like below.
You MUST do this everytime you start your car. I have confirmed that this works on 2005 LS430 as well. Have not tried any other cars.
Alright so I have an 06 gs3 and I tried this and my Dest button and my map button both didnt do anything until I turned the car off and back on......When I hit the buttons a black screen came up.....there is no issues now but it was weird

The cutting of the wires is only needed if you want to watch DVDs while in motion. Even after the wire cutting you still have to go through this proceedure to do nav input while in motion.

Thanks for posting the menu steps Knicker.
I just wanted to add on thing to this thread. My guy at my service dept. told me about this override, and he said it's buggy. The computer can lock up, and if it does, the whole navi comp has to be replaced, and it won't be covered by the warranty.
Good luck guys...

GUYS Listen, what ever you do, dont go to the GPS section and pick a different "US-##" Tab, it will reboot the NAV ECU and will say "Please insert Correct Disk" thats what I did to our lexus and after 8 months we finally took it to Lexus and tomorrow they are installing a brand new nav ECU
. So yeah being curious has its lessons?

Hello,
Can you help me with the navigation "Override" trick ? You said it worked with your IS 350. I can make it work with mine.
Do you know the version of your NAV system ? Is it v4 or v5 ? Mine is v5, and it doesn't work.
Did you do anything special to enter that "Override" menu ?
Thank you in advance,
Blue.

It doesn't work with my 2007 IS350 either. It looks like Lexus finally changed the way to access the override button, now that the method was more or less common knowledge.
Anyone know how to access it on a gen5 model?
