Default Removal of 3rd brake light??

Listen guys check it out... On Thursday I'm finally bringing my GS to get tinted.. Now I know that the tint guy takes out the 3rd brake light to tint the rear window because he did it to all my other cars.. Now my question is, how easy is it to remove the 3rd brake light and what do you have to do?? I see that there's a sensor back there but I don't have a clue as to what it senses, I don't have my owners manual to check it out.. I'm hoping it's just like the 2nd gen, where it just pretty much pops out.. Can anyone help me?? It would be much appreciated. Thanks...

I say there is a bulb indicator like in the 2nd gen model when a bulb is disconnected it shows up on the dash, good luck btw.

I don't mean a sensor like that.. It's a sensor that's exposed under the 3rd brake light.. It could be for the headlights but I'm not sure.. And on the other hand I don't want this guy touching something that maybe shouldn't be touched..

How dark are you going with the tint? I'm getting my GS tinted this week and debating how dark to go.

did you ask your tint guy if he knows how to do it? mine had already done a 3GS, so i didn't even ask - it turned out fine. i think most pros should have a lot of experience with different kinds of setups.

I asked him if he did a 3rd GS yet, he told me that mine would be his first.. So that's the reason for concern.. I just don't want him to see it for the first time and get all nervous.. You see the guy is really conservative and the last thing I want to hear out of his mouth is "the side windows are done but the rear window I couldn't do"..

Default Sensor is for the Instrument cluster auto brightness

The GS uses the sensor to read the ambient light and uses the reading to adjust the intensity of the lighting. The sensor may be fooled by an extremely dark tint but can be manually overridden in the drop down panel.

Gotcha.. Now will it be possible to disconnect the 3rd brake light w/ sensor so this guy can tint to rear window?
