Thanks Tony, I'll give that a shot.

But if that does work, then this tire pressue system is pretty dumb.

I mean, as long as you have air in your spare, you'd never know if your other tires were getting low? That just doesn't sound right.

Also, the spare doesn't have air in it to begin with? What's the use of having the spare in there then??

koolaidman is on to something...he said in my post to put all the sensors into the spare tire location...i couldnt get an answer why but i guess this has something to do w/ it.

OK, now I'm really confused.

I just looked at my spare, and to my surprise it was a big yellow piece of crap rim with a cheap *** tire. Looked to me like an normal rubber stem with no pressure sensor. It also says to inflate to 60PSI only.

Am I missing something here? I coulda sworn the dealer, or someone told me that the spare was a full size, tire with the same rim??

DId I get screwed by my dealer?

I had the tire pressure light come on also after driving my car for about 2 weeks. It started when I drove to work one morning. The night before, I had driveng my son back from soccer practice with him sitting in the front passenger seat. I got out and checked the tire pressure several times and all were normal. I took the car to the dealer that evening after work and the service guy fixed it in a few minutes. It turns out there is a push button switch under the left side of the passenger side dashboard where your feet go if you are tall (my son is 5'10''). If you stretch your feet out and push up you can accidently push the switch.

I was told by the service guy that the switch changes pressure sensor settings between two sets of tires. For example, if you put on winter tires in winter, you push the switch to tell the tire pressure sensor system there is a new set of tires installed. So when my sons foot pushed the switch accidently, the tire pressure system looked for tire pressures from a second set of tires which werent' there. So the tire pressure light comes on.

The solution was to push the switch again and go back to the initial tire pressure sensor settings. You will need a flashlight and lie on your back under the front passenger side and look up. There should be a button on the underside of the dashboard, towards the ffront center of the car. Obviously this won't work if you forgot to install sensors on your new tires but it may help others who unexpectedly have the tire pressure light come on and haven't changed tires. Good luck.

*** Note that on my car, the switch is under the passenger side, not the driver side as stated earlier***
