Well, all cars can go 107. It just depends how quickly you get there.

The new GS430 has the same engine as the 01-05 GS430. It has a new 6-speed so the ride is different but times should be similar.

If my ES300 can hit 135+, you can get higher than that in a GS.

you might want to change the title of the thread to
"if my dad's gs could only get to 107...was there a problem with his gs"
or
"my dads gs got to 107mph in my driveway...how fast are the new ones"
just kidding

THe 3GS is faster than the 2GS 430 but its such a small diffference, its negligable, you won't be able to tell drving both back to back.

I have done 136 MPH in my 430 and it felt like it had plenty more to give. I have been in the 130s a few times. The fastest I have gone is 148 but not in a Lexus. Things just get retarded at these speeds unless you are the only one on the road, "the Autobahn would be nice." I touch 100 at least once a week and that is why I love Lexus so much, it is seemingly effortless at these speeds. I have had both the 300 and 430 2nd and 3rd gen, the V8 makes all the diference in the world. The V8 power feels bottomless, has a smoothness like it doesn't have to even try. With all of the freeway miles I do everyday, this car sure makes it a hell of a lot easier.

i have got to 150 in the gs400 but you are already red lineing at that point, the car doesn't have that much more to give.

Before I bought one, I testdrove a GS430 on introduction in the Netherlands and hit 250 KMH (= some 155 MPH). Engine is electronically limited to 250 as max speed. It took some seconds to get there but it felt powerfull all the way and the V8 did it smoothly. Downside is that based on my average cruising speed (140-150 KMH with radar detector), I only get some 7 Kilometers per Liter. Oh well, it's give and take but at our gasprices it does drive more expensive than the GS300 I drove before. My wife's RX however does 6 KpL and her top is 230 KMH (i.e. the RX's top!)

By the time this thread reaches page 5, I guess someone somewhere did 200 MPH
