Default I hate to poo-poo Lexus, but 3rd gen GS...

Just saw another 3rd gen GS today, about a half-hour after seeing an Infinity M at the mall. For exterior styling the Infinity wins hands down, the new GS is just too boring IMHO, even though both cars are not all that different from each other. The Infinity has sportier side skirts, and a front lip, gives the car a much better look. The interior of the Infinity looked pretty schnazzy too, but I'm sure the GS is right with it in this category.
Lexus obviously doesn't give a rat's ashtray about us sport styling people. They should make a sport GS that's RADICALLY different from the stock one, at least in looks.

the new GS tails have to go, way too ugly. other then that it has the same tasteful styling that brought me over to lexus in the first place.

i remember a lot of people saying the 2nd gen GS rear end was nasty when it first came out. even myself hated it, but it grew on me and now i love it.

For me, I really love the way the new gs looks both inside and out. The only thing I don't like was the carry over of the 4.3 engine. However, I'm waiting for Lexus to fix that with the 4.6

I wasnt a big fan of the new GS but it is growing on me. The more I see the GS modded and PSed the more I plan on getting one when a new engine comes out. I dont think lexus minds that it isnt sporty enough because they are selling units.

I actually like the read end of the new GS, the side profile etc, but it's the front that does not grab me! I don't quite get how the headlight cluster is now rectangular in shape? It's to Avalon-ish to me. And the lower air vents, ones below the headlights, it's like no real design was implemented that or lack of ideas??

Other than that, I love all the rest of the car

The new hyundai looks similiar to the new GS, just a little. Nothing looks like the 98-05 and i like that.

The more I see the new GS, the more I dislike the exterior. IMO a car has to look good in and out. The new GS has nice looking interior, but the exterior does nothing for me. I think the 2nd gen GS is the best looking of all the GS generations.

I HATED the 3GS when I first saw pics. I have to admit it is has grown on me somewhat, but honestly it's exterior is pretty weak. Blah, blah same ques as every other Japanese sedan. It's not totally ugly to me anymore, but Lexus definately dropped the ball on styling. I don't understand why it looks more like a 1st gen GS again instead of improving or at least being based more on the 2gen style. The interior and techno is grade A, and if it was a 350-400HP
V8 that would definatelty help reel me in. anyway, I know what you mean Jerry.

btw-I think the new IS exterior is more attractive than the new GS

I, like a lot of other people, didn't really care for the styling of the 3 GS when it first came out. Over time, the styling began to grow on me, and there was a point about a month ago when I really liked the car. However, now, after seeing many on the road up here, I'm totally indifferent towards it. It's just not that distinctive, especially in the rear. In fact, just today I saw one a few cars ahead of me and I sped up to catch it. As it turns out, it was an Avalon.

Hey Eric,

I wonder if the windshield on the 3rd gen will have the same problems as the 2nd gen
