Default Brake pedal pulsation

I noticed some brake pedal pulsations on the GS430. It's not due to heavy braking, thus, the activation of ABS. Even on soft braking, a slight vibrating pulse can be felt. To make an educated guess, it's like the brake booster pump activating and the vibration from that pump travels down the brake pedal stem. Anyone else experienced this subtle phenomenon? It's far from scary or annoying but more of a quirk which my old GS never had, or for that matter, other cars.

I've noticed the same thing. A slight vibration even with light braking, usually most prominent in the first few stops of the day. But I thought the brake assist was electronic.

Get your rotors checked by Lexus. This was a comon thing on the 2nd gen GS. Have Lexus take a look, it is like 45 bucks to have it done but they should cover it. Hopefully this is the issue, a pain to have to take care of but easy to fix. If you find out it is something else let us know.

didn't the early 3rd gen 430s have a coating or something on the rotors that didn't work out and caused pulsation?

It's not the rotors. The car is too new to have warped rotors. Also warped rotors would make the steering vibrate as well. This pulsation is subtle and can be felt from time to time. It's probably the brake booster pump that needs to be checked... oh well, first year production problems... sigh...

I already complained to my dealer (and corporate) about this issue (along with the poorly performing A/C). The dealer and corporate both determined that this was "normal operation for this new braking system." I've just gotten used to the wierd vibration in the pedal. As for the A/C that takes forever to get cold, guess I'll just have to live with that too..... Sometimes I miss my LS
