Default New Feature Wishlist

Hey Guys,

What feature would you like them to add to the 3G GS? Off the top of my head I'd say:

- More information on instrument panel display ( I think it's highly underutilized compared to another German make )
- Ipod adapter ( Apologies to the audiophiles, but I think a built-in unit that could be controlled via the steering wheel would be a big plus. The new IS will have a universal mp3 device plugin, but I don't think you will be able to control the device using the Lexus audio system)

- change color of center console buttons from green to white or light blue.
- a little more wood, especially in the glove compartment area. After driving my girlfriend's E350 this weekend, I noticed how barren the GS's dash area is.

-Improved, next generation NAV from the new IS (better graphics, faster operation, etc.) with the ability to remove the annoying Agree button & the ability to enter destinations while in motion if the weight sensor detects a front seat passenger.
-Redesigned cup holders (i.e. approx 1.5" deeper) The cupholders work okay for soda cans and larger cups, but are very poor for holding taller water bottles.
-Recalibrated VDIM w/ a turn off switch (that way all the magazine reviewers can finally shut up)
-Additional interior color (possibly a deep reddish brown like on the BMW 5 Series)

Other than that, not much. More power is always nice, but not necessary. Besides, we know more power is coming the end of next year anyway.

i'll put what i put on my lexus survey of what i'd like to see ...

SPORTS package with bigger wheels, lower suspension, more HP i think this GS as much as they're touting the Sportiness of it really isnt sporty when they dont offer a sport package. maybe because it's the first MY run they'll incorporate that into the GS350?

i'd like to see a 6 spd manual for the diehards as well.

Heated/cooled rear seats
Illuminated door sills (come on, the IS has them)
Aluminum dash option

I think we can expect the iPod adapter for the 07's, since that seems to come with every update so far. The 2IS has it, the 2006 Scion's have it...

The "I Agree" off switch will NEVER happen. Liability, unfortunately. If someone buys the car used, gets in an accident, and sues Lexus blaming them that they aren't responsible for it because they never agreed to everything that the "I Agree" screen states (I don't actually know what it says, lol).

-Traffic integration into navi

-Power door closers
-A/V hookup for front nav screen (for PS2/Xbox/etc..)
-Easier Satellite Radio integration (factory install)
-massaging front seats
-Enhanced voice commands (more accurate, more commands/programmable : "one hundred point three" or programable station names "Z100," "Q-Rock," etc..

thinking...

i agree with most...
obviously more power and torque will come soon, so...

-white or blue/white lights instead of green
-a functioning version of voice nav software
-rear ventilated seats
-sports package (bring l-tuned back but with engine enhancements as well)
-larger and more brilliant nav screen(tl and rl system looks amazing)
-redesign trunk entry
-completely power trunk, similar to rx
-satellite radio display should show full amount of available characters

since were wishing and all

1. Brighter interior lights
2. More trunk illumination
3. I don't need the audio level screen function to indicate every time I change the volume. My ears tell me it's changing.
4. More air volume from the seat coolers.
5. Improved keyless go system. It's always beeping and I can't figure out why, like when the valet opens my door and I'm already stopped.
6. Faster disc changer. Too much delay between discs.

hard drive with 160 GB of storage that rips your CD as soon as you put it in? No delay...

USB adaptor to load calendar, addresses, etc. from laptop
Sport selection capability via switch; more than just stiffer shocks in current config.
Selection of NAV voices (Estelle Costanza from Seinfield? YOU MISSED YOUR TURN!! )
Fold Down back seat; (little arm-rest hole doesn't quite cut it.)
Show elevation in NAV Lat/Long mode (GPS feature)

Does that mean 'line-in'? Because all cars should have that. I love it when marketing people get to name stuff.

My steering wheel controls lateral acceleration.
Marketing translation: "New models feature cabin-mounted lateral acceleration controls."
