Default My 1st impression of the 2006 GS300 AWD's

I first wanted to say hello to everyone in the forum, and that this is my 1st post on ClubLexus.com!

My father just purchased a loaded 2006 GS300 AWD and after driving his car over the weekend I was quite impressed with the way the car handled in the rain and the Mark Levinson stereo/DVD NAV system. I'm a VW/Audi advocate, and I currently own a modded 2003 W8 Passat that had it's few share of problems and a high cost of ownership. The GS300 wasn't as quick as my W8, but the powerband was quite smooth for a 6 cylinder. The handling was very solid, but it could be improved with upgraded suspension components. I always thought that my next car would be a current model year A6, but the GS has caught my attention.

I read in the forums that Toyota didn't want to bring over the GS350 because it produced more HP/Torque than the current 430 powerplant. Also that Lexus plans on changing the 8 cylinder powerplant to one that produces more power. Now if the GS430 came in an AWD version or the 300 produced more power than my VW, then Lindsey Lexus would have a sale in the blink of an eye! What's bad is that the salesman who sold me my first VW now sells Lexus!

Is it fate???

Peace and blessings,

Will aka The Swami

Your father is a wise wise man.

Shouldn't you follow in your father's footsteps, and get yourself a GS300 AWD as well.

Trust me, as a current owner, I have no regrets on this wonderful machine.

And with the price of gas these days...i dont need no V8.
