Default GS is a AAA 2005 Top Car

I just ran across this AAA positive review of the GS. They selected it as a AAA 2005 top car or "Auto Guide Winner". The RL is also on the list, but no Mercedes, Audi, or BMW. Nice to see the GS receive the respect it deserves. I can't tell when the announcement was made.

Here's the FOX news announcement:

http://www.kvvutv.com/Global/story.a...1&nav=2NiwXmNa

and the brief review:

http://configurator.carprices.com/aaa/research.html

From the above review: "With its muscular good looks, copious comfort, and world-class performance, we think the new Lexus GS twins should be on every sport sedan shopper’s short list"

" (KVVU) -- After evaluating hundreds of cars, AAA has selected 13 vehicles as the top cars of 2005. The sporty new Ford Mustang has been named AAA's 'Cool Car of the Year.'

As part of its commitment to help motorists make informed decisions, AAA evaluates more than 200 vehicles each year. The top-rated vehicle in each of the 13 categories becomes a AAA Top Car. Twelve categories are based on vehicle cost and type, while one, the 'Cool Car' category, is based on unique characteristics and styling.

Reviews of the following vehicles can be found online at aaa.carprices.com.

Jaguar XJ Long Wheelbase ($50,000 or more)
Acura RL ($40,000 - $50,000)
Lexus GS (($35,000 - $40,000)

Infiniti G35 ($25,000 - $30,000)

Are they talking about used or new?

Your numbers are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off.. For the GS 430, MSRP is over $51,000 and fully loaded with Pre Collision is over $61,000. And, the GS 300 MSRP is OVER $41,000 for sure, but I don't the specifics. Where the hell did you get your numbers from?

Those weren't AmethySC's numbers. Those were the costs reported by AAA.

You can easily get a G35 new in the high 20s, I have never seen a coupe below 30k though.

The GS price is clearly wrong.
