if u have good auto inchorence dont bother because would u wont your car abck after maybe a drugery been in it with maybe hiv, or if some punk kids who ripe up the inside or crahs it getting away from the cops? i say let them strip it and give me my check

Also, Lo-Jack, personally I think is a great invention. I used to install then when I worked at the car dealership around my neck-o-the-woods. Great investment. Also, some insurance companies do give rate breaks for those that have Lo-Jack. Even if they find the car all torn to bits and missing pieces, it's better than not recovering the car all together.
Like the last poster said, if they are stealing the car, usually they are going to have a key or a tow truck. In either case, it's a good thing to have to a location of the car and be able to recover it, and any of the items inside.

lo jack is only useful where it have coverage.
So if you are outside of coverage area, you are out of luck.
There are GPS based tracking product available now.
Go look up guidepoint.
