6th Gear Worthless?

6th Gear Worthless?
I've noticed that cruising at 60, 70, even 80 mph in 6th gear, even the slightest throttle pressure results in a downshift to 5th. It's annoying from a delay in acceleration standpoint. Consequently I drive most of the time with the shifter in 5th. Do you folks find the same to be true?

Is your ECT rocker switch on Power mode? The 2GS430 will downshift at the slightest pedal pressure while the ECT is in Power mode. Otherwise, it'll hold 5th gear for as long as it can. The 3GS should behave similarly. Just a suggestion. JB
Edit: I just saw from your signature that you're well aware how the 2GS430 behaves. It was a thought, though.

Deffinatly might want to check that. I haven't noticed this in my GS. Also wonder if it might be related to how the VVTI "learns"
