From the main menu of the scan tool.

Select customize, new vehicle( input the vehicle info), then select Individual change.

Follow the screen to Function Select and select 08:Light Control, and select DRL Function on the following screen.

The factory default is ON, so the tech just have to select off. It will take only 5 minutes to do it.

I hope you can see the attachtment I have to scan it and down size it.
Hi VVT, under light control/sensitivity, is that for the auto headlight function you think? I wanna disable the auto headlights, as they are annoying to me. I would rather turn them on/off manually.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

I had mine done at Scottsdale Lexus in Arizona. They were actually impressed and kept the instruction sheet that i printed out.

They didnt give me any hassle about it being a safety feature or anything. If anyone in AZ wants to get them turned off go see Rick at Scottsdale Lexus.

Once you disable them..do they EVER come on (like when you turn the headlights on)?

No, once you turn them off they will not turn on unless you go to the dealership again and have them turn them on.

DRLs (on 2GS at least) are the high beam bulbs running at lower power, so when you turn on the headlights (low beams) the DRLs go off automatically anyway. The 'parking lights' come on as well.

Just so you know depending on where you live, a car without working DRLs will not pass safety. It may or may not get you a ticket, as well.

Hmm, I wonder if the DRL plug is under one of the engine panels. For the 1st gen IS all we had to do was unplug it to disable. Also people were able to do a full power mod (not quite high beam bright) and changed there bulbs to either yellow or blue. I'm gonna take a look this weekend to see it that works.
