Metallic Tint affecting Nav

Tint in NJ
Hello fellow Lexus owners,
I am new to this forum and have to say how wonderful it is. I just purchased a 2006 gs 300awd and just love it. I would like to get my windows tinted and was wondering if anybody could recommend a good shop in the Morris, Union or Essex county New Jersey area.
Thank you all

i don't know how i would test it since now i don't lose signal, but it is pretty clear when your signal is too weak. the thing will start driving off the road on the map and soon you are more than 1/2 mile from where you should be. it would take a good 1-2 minutes on a major freeway for the nav to "recalibrate" and get it right.

Both come with a lifetime warranty that is good at any authorized dealer nationwide (in case your local tint shop goes out of business)
I also looked a Llumar film but they didn't offer a non-metalic film. I also found shops that were willing to do the job in the $150 - $200 range, but they didn't offer a film I liked.

Whatever you go with, I highly recommend that you seek out referrals for a talented installer. The installer I've used in NorCal is awesome, but I've seen plenty of bad installs in my day as well.

Even with the lower grade films, I would have paid extra $ just for the expertise of a good installer instead of having some high-school kid install it.

I also have metallic tint. When I had my Eclipse Nav installed my installer acknowledged the interference so he mounted the GPS antenna in the front dashboard..Works flawlessly!!I dont know how cost effective or even possible on the newer GS rerouting is but its an option.

Just got my tint finally today. i went with the formula one pinnacle series which is the ceramic based tint. I shelled out 370 and it looks really nice. I got the darkest tint because my interior is grey, but it's way too dark at night. i should have gone with the medium. hope i don't get a ticket. first thing i noticed after the tint was my satellite radio keeps losing reception. it's very annoying. it never did that before. the nav seems to be fine. let's hope and see. thanks for all the comments.
