i have seen the feature on other clocks and you have to turn it off and on for it to work right. I think the general idea is you are fliping a switch instead of hitting the hour button 23 times to go back 1 hour. It should be labeled oberserving DST and not observing DST at least it would make more sense than on and off.

Also take note that you would have to program the month day and year and time in on intial setup and it would have to have the calendars for the next 50 years stored in memory for it to be fully automatic as the date does change with leap year etc

Mine DST also had to be switched off in order for it to show the correct time. And like everyone else here, I expected it to be done automatically when I saw the screen labeling. No big deal, at least we know how it works now!

you are right, henry. i haven't changed the time yet in the SC, totally forgot that one was a H/M setting! (weird how it isn't updated through the nav screen like the others...)

back O/T, my Sony dream machine alarm clock has a button for DST On/Off. it's weird because it updates the time/date by itself when you plug it into the wall. but it doesn't know DST. i think you it's because they sell these clocks and cars all over the world, and they aren't going to change the DST clock mechanism for every country or area . . . the DST button just makes it more universal.

P.S. happy halloween everyone!

I don't think it automatic ajusts itself. The button is to simply add or subtract an hour when you turn it on or off.

I assumed the GS had an atomic clock b/c the time was already correct when I purchased the car. I guess the dealer set it.
But since it has auto button, i assumed time corrected itself.
