Test drove the new IS250....very dissapointed.!! The GS is much better, more comfortable and a lot more room. There is no leg room in the back...I think this car was designed for kids.
The GS kick ***.....

well it is a different class of car so yah i'm not surprised that it's more crampedin the rear seat. I think that if i were younger and single i would probably consider the IS350 over the GS...but with that being said, i love my GS

GS300/430 = Luxury Touring Sedan
IS250/350 = Luxury Sports Sedan
The IS250/350 is smaller and has less available torque than a comparable GS300/430, but it is more nimble and has quite a few features I wish my GS had (updated NAV w/ improved graphics, illuminated door scuff plates, paddle shifters). I'll cross my fingers and hope these will be available on the GS460.
Either way, they are both GREAT cars. I just wish the press would stop making such a huge deal about the VDIM. For the hardcore enthusiast it might be an issue, but 90% of the people shopping in this price range couldn't care less. Maybe I'm goofy, but I don't think VDIM is that intrussive.
If anything, I have more of an issue with the run-flat Dunlops on my GS, which suck in wet conditions, than my ability to disable VDIM.

Then you don't fit the IS demographic. The rear seat is for either kids or the *rare* occasional adult passenger. People that need room to seat 4 adults should NOT consider the IS. The IS is a 4 door sports car.

I drove an IS350 the other day for the heck of it (scared the crap out of the salesman, i love doing that lol) The IS is faster then my 3rd gen GS430 but not as much as I was expecting. Beside the speed there is no comparison. Althought the IS is VERY nice its not a GS. For the money it kicks butt!!! Nice car IMO but I'm keeping my GS430

I agree that it is ridiculous to compare the IS to the GS as they are two different cars aimed at different market segments. That being said, both are great cars for their market segment. The GS obviously tailors to an older audience while the IS is geared towards a younger one. Also, horsepwer does matter a lot to some, hence the reason why people are choosing to buy a 306 hp IS 350 over a 204 hp IS 250, even though there aren't any stylistic differences. 0-60 times definitly matter to some, or else people who own a 1995 geo metro would be happy that their car can go from 0-60 in 13 seconds and we would still see them on the road....
