Default Pain in the seat!

I have had the GS430 for about two weeks now. I bought it used with 4k miles. I love the car but hate the bottom cushion of the seat. It is too narrow for me and the sides push in against my hips and thighs. I have not taken it on a long trip but I can't imagine being in this seat for more that an hour. I am 6 ft., 205 lbs. The back of the set is very comfortable and supportive of the lumbar area. This bottom is the problem. Is anyone else having this problem? Do you think the seat will break in after more use.

I actually have the opposite problem. The bottom cushion is comfortable but somehow I can't get comfy with the lumbar support.

I'm assuming you have tried the back seat adjustments including lumbar?

I too am having the same problem. The seat bottom cushion isn't long or wide enough for bigger drivers (I'm 6' 2" and 200lbs.). On a somewhat related note, I checked out the IS last week and even though the car is significantly smaller, I was much more comfortable in it. The seats were much better IMHO. I wonder how much of a hassle it would be to swap the seats from the IS? Probably extremely cost prohibitive given the fact that the seats are fairly complex (i.e. power controls, heated and cooled, airbags, etc). I know Lexus was going after the sport sedan market with the GS, but I think they missed the mark on the seats. I hate to say it, but I'd rather have the sofa-like seating of the ES or LS to be honest.

Default No thigh support

Love my new GS300 but am disappointed by the bottoms of the seats. They don't support my thigh (and I'm 5'10", 165 lbs.) and are uncomfortable because of this. Also, get a bit tossed around on a curve. Just turned in my 2002 Volvo S60, whose seats were awesome. Maybe it will just take some time to adjust...

Have you tried adjusting the bottom of the seat to make it inflate? I think the thigh support is great.

6'4" and 208lbs here... I noticed the same thing with the bottom cushion after a 4 hour trip this past weekend. I am hoping they will get more comfortable with time and use.

I'm 6' 185lbs and so far the longest trip I've had was to Hunter Mountain to go snowboarding this past weekend which takes about 2 hours, and I was fine. This weekend I'll be going to Stratton Mountain in Vermont, which is a 6 hour drive, so I'll see how it is.

6'4" 195 lbs. I've taken 9 hour drives in my GS and I like the seat's comfort. At my height I'm used to having little or no thigh support, so no surprise here.

Lightbulb I've tried everything...

I have tried every possible adjustment on the seat but I just can not get comfortable. I'm driving to L.A. on Sat. (2 hour drive) and I hopefully my back will survive the trip! Other than that, the car is amazing -- definitely a trip to the future now!

Default Life in the Aftermarket...

Are there any after-market options if I want to change the seats out? I'm new to this world and somewhat clueless. Thanks for your help.

I took car car to Xotic Leather Works in Las Vegas and they took the seats out and added my foam to the bottow cushion. Not perfect but a big improvement. Cost was $80 per seat.

I find the seats in my 06 GS much more comfortable than my 98 GS.
