Purchasing a "loaner" GS
Possibly in the market for a new GS 300. One of local dealers has 5 GS300's that they used in their loaner fleets. They have about 1000 miles on them. None have been titled. Fortunately, all are in the color combo that I want. Any guess as to how much to ask for one? I'm thinking at least below invoice. Their are plenty of GS's on dealer lots and I'm guessing I can have a non-loaner GS for about 500-1000 over invoice.

haha..i wouldnt get a loaner car
i just had one for 2 days and i DOGGED it out although i kept it clean... it made some noises lol..its amazing how the people that used it before me treated it the leather was all dirty and grease and stuff ..it only had 2100 miles on it...you should have them inspect it very careful if you get it
good luck

I agree...the demo cars dont get babied at all. People who test drives these things want to see what the car can do and sometimes do specific things that they would never do to their own vehicles. I agree....unless the vehicle is seriously discounted...i would pass up on the offer.

When you say "loaner cars", do you mean vehicles that are given to owners when they bring their cars in for service or vehicles that are used for test drives and are considered demos? If those are in-service loaner cars then I wish Lexus of Austin would give us the new GS vehicles because we are stuck with the ES IS RX.
I would have no problem buying a dealer demo, but one of the in-service loaner cars might cause me to think twice. They get pretty ragged out because there's no supervision (no back seat test driver).

The car had 200 miles on it so I asked if we should take it easy and he replied it didn't matter because this car was gonna be "tested" no matter what..... was also able to floor it from 75mph to 90+ish .

with only 1,000 miles, looks like a winner. Haggle with them, below invoice! Dealer get loaners/test cars below invoice price, so it is cheaper for them.
I wouldnt be too worried since its only 1,000 miles. We have an loaner/demo/rental fleet at our dealership and never had any problems with "beating the car". All toyota's are built to last, at 1,000 miles car is still brand new.
I would be more worried if interior was scratched somewhere by accident...
