BTW, are you doing a BBK upgrade and found any to fit your 18" wheels?

Yep, you guys were right. The tire was mounted on the wrong side. The lettering is different on the other side. Would there be any adverse effects if they were left like that? The tread pattern doesn't seem to be asymetrical.

well the tires are designed THAT way so you should use them that way. otherwise you void the warranty, and if you get into any accident or so, insurance company can deny claims as well i say. definitely get it right, i think sewell lexus should reimburse your installation cost
to be honest, i can't believe how the installer could miss this critical point. always look for the direction of rotation and surface for tires before installing...
and yes, on the tire, it says outter and it always faces out

Just got my 18" Tourmalines installed at Star Toyota but they said they weren't able to balance the wheels because their wheel machines only take up to 17". The wheels, however, already came balanced when I bought them from Sewell Lexus. I know that they are supposed to be balanced each time the tires are taken off or put on. They told me that most likely it won't matter but should I leave them alone or take my car in somewhere else to get it balanced? If I leave them like this, would my tires prematurely wear out or would there be any adverse effects?
