I just don't fit in it...
Guess there's no GS for me - my head touches the headliner even with the seat all the way down. The back seat is pretty tough also, as my head touches the top of that too...guess I will have to stick with 550i. Too bad, because as far as luxury is concerned, I was quite impressed in my test drive. The noise reduction was spectacular also.

I apologize if it seems like I'm asking a stupid question, but at least in my 2nd-gen GS430 there were two adjustments for seat height, one for the entire seat and one for the bottom cushion. For me to get comfortable (I'm 6'1" also with a long torso) I had to adjust them both all the way down. Did you happen to adjust both? I've driven the new GS430 and felt quite comfortable in it, at least in the front seats.

I pressed down on all the buttons I could find in the side of the seat, and tested it by bringing them up as well, just to see what I was working with. Without putting the angle of the seatback rather far down, I couldn't sit in it without my hair rubbing the headliner. Where are there two buttons for a seat adjustment? I know you can change seat angle, putting the back of the seat cushion up or down, but also just one for height.

Tried to find a good picture, but the best I could dig up in short cycle is this:
Basically it's the horizontal one at the bottom of the picture that's partially cropped. If you rock the front of that up and down, it raises and lowers the seat cushion; if you rock the back up and down, it raises and lowers the entire seat assembly (or maybe vice-versa, but you get the idea). I personally don't like my seat very reclined for sporty driving, so I would just lower myself down and marginally recline the seat until I felt "right". My head had a good couple of inches of clearance in the 2nd-gen and 3rd-gen GS430 with these settings. Perhaps you are just enough taller than me that you hit, though?!

interesting, i haven't tried the 3gs ones extensively yet, but on my 2gs, the up and down tab actually controls the front and back part of the seats separately. if you pull the front part of the tab, the front will raise. if you pull the rear part, the rear will raise (same for push to lower it). if you pull the whole tab from the middle, the whole seat rises up

Are you one of those guys who likes to sit forward? I am 6'1" and I have tons of space. I am one of those guys that likes to slam the seat all the way back. LOL Not really but I do recline.
