I just hope Lexus does something about the "ticking" noise common w/ both Lexus' "Direct Injection" and Audi's "FSI".

THanks ya'll I forgot about the 450h
So there will be a 3 GS lineup first 300/430/450h then 350/450h/460.
In 1998, when the 2GS debuted all new, the 4.0 engine added VVTi, which got peak hp up from 260 (in the SC/LS) to 300 in the GS (290 in the SC/LS).
In 2001 when the 3LS debuted with the new 4.3 liter, the GS got that engine as well, thus the 430 was born.
The same thing in 2007. The 4LS will debut with a 4.6 V-8, with direct injection and dual vvti (added to exhaust), and the GS will become the 460.
What has yet to be seen, the LS WILL OFFER a V-8 hybrid. Not sure if a V-8 GS hybrid will come too eventually.

Lexus Fanatic
The GS350 replaces the GS300, the GS460 replaces the GS430, and the GS450h replaces...um...your E55?
I hope Lexus keeps the GS300 in markets that base taxes on engine displacements though. Lexus needs to offer more smaller engine variants if they're serious about expanding outside the US.

No official word from Lexus (which is no suprise), but every automotive publication is pretty much in agreement that North America should see the GS350 & GS460 next Fall as a 2007 model. The GS450h is supposed to be out a bit sooner in the Spring/Summer of 2006 last time I heard.

Back on topic. I wish Lexus keep the GS300 in the line up so you can get the GS300, GS350 with 306 hp, GS450h with over 330 hp or the GS460 that will top them all. Heck, may be one day the GS will get the 600h from the LS as welll...

GS sales are STRONG with the 300 and 430 and when they taper a bit, here come new engines to bump sales. Lexus is going against the Germans and now understands this concept
