i think the GS350 is coming but, what is going to happen to the GS300 motor it is a hole new motor and only use it for one year sounds dumb? it cost millions to make a motor even if there they same setup they are still different they most be adding this new gs300 moter to some other toyota/lexus car because it would be a waist of there money not to? or maybe keep the Gs300 motor as a line up?

I am sure this engine will be used in other cars, it is brand new, it won't just be on a shelf.

Hopefully Lexus takes the 6speed from the is250 and hooks it to the gs300 so they can offer a manual to compete with the 530i manual. And they should put the is350's version of VDIM on the gs430 so it will feel like more of a drivers car. Just my 2 cents.

The manual in teh 6 speed IS cannot handle the power and torque of the GS 300 or GS 350

Well then just put the IS's ver. of VDIM and its drivers airbag and sound absorbing sunvisors into the gs430 so i can have the perfect sport sedan. Oh and the ipod hookup from the new IS.

As someone else pointed out in another thread, Toyota surely has a 6-speed manual gearbox to handle that torque, namely the one in the Tacoma that handles its 282 ft-lbs@3800rpm from the 1GR-FE. I think it's just a matter of whether or not Lexus wants to do it, not if they can do it.

Woohoo...Looks like the GS 350 AWD will be out just in time for my graduation present. I really didn't want the GS 300 AWD. Now I only hope it has the Generation 5 Navigation System, illuminated doorsill scuff plates, shark-fin antenna, and XM Satellite Radio as a factory-installed option.

Well if you want it to handle the torque and horsepower why not the Getrag 6-speed found in the MKIV supras? There are some upwards of 1300rwhp with the stock Getrag and an aftermarket clutch.
I just highly doubt Lexus would ever go that route.

how many people would buy GS MT? Less than 0.1% of buyers in the USA. Even funnier is that buyers in Europe now preffer AT for larger sedans...

I would love to have a 6MT RWD GS350. Third Generation Acura TL has a 6MTversion (with Brembo front brake as a standard) along with 5AT version, it is doing great.
Here is the power new GS V6 have according to Lexus Japan

Anyone ever find any specs on the 0-60 and 1/4 mile for the GS350? It has been out for a couple of months now in Japan but I can't seem to find any review on the 0-60. Just want to get an idea how the acceleration for the GS450h or the GS460 will be.

Chu...
