I just hate the way the power cord for my V1 goes across the dash and blocks some of the controls. Has anybody hard wired a radar detector into their GS? If so, where is the best place to tap for power, how were the wires run, and where is the detector mounted?
TIA.

Never get wireless... you do not want to have a detector that will gradually get weaker as time progresses, those also shut off for about .2 seconds per second to save energy life. if a cop is targetting us, we need to know NOW, period.
Your best bet is to have a car audio/electronic guy run it off your ignition accesory, and run it up the left pillar, through the headliner, and have it come out with enough slack to mount just below your rear-view mirror. It cost me about 50 to do that and its a clean install that looks fantastic.

I hardwired my Valentine V1. I didn't want to mess with the wires behind the driver's kick panel (power is a pink one I believe, do a search here). So I ended up tapping the cigarette lighter's line to power the detector. Works great!
