06 GS430 or 06 Mercedes CLS500
hey guys, what car should I get, 06 GS430 or 06 Mercedes CLS500 with the AMG sport package? both are beautiful cars, I just had a 05 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas that I was orginally going to trade in but I have someone who is going to buy it within the next 1-2 weeks. Below are the options on the benz:
-AMG sport package
-Xenon headlight package
-Premium package which includes Hardon Kardon Logic 7 stereo system with cd changer, COMMAND DVD Navigation, Active Ventilated Front Seats, Driver Multicontour Seat, Passenger Multicontour Seat
-Electronic trunk closer
-Sirius radio
-Keyless Go
-Barolo Red Metallic exterior/Cashmere Beige Interior
I know the GS430 is about 20k cheaper than the CLS500 but again I like both cars and both cars drive very nice. I would have to wait 10-12 weeks to get a CLS500 and about the same time for the lexus (in one of my post on this forum I mentioned that my local dealer told me it could take up to 6 months because I want the Glacier Frost Mica with Ash interior and apparently the GS430 is not in high production).
Help!! If u guys had to make the choice what would u do? (without considering price)

I plan on trading my 06 430 next year for a CLS, but to say,
is just plain ignorant
PHP Code:
That is a hot car, its all over the GS in terms of styling, performance, and luxury

In a perfect world, and if price was not a consideration, I'd probably get the CLS. Very nice looking car IMO, although I see way too many here in So. Cal.
However, the reality is that the Lexus will be more reliable in the long term. Are you buying or leasing the new car? If you're going to lease, then I'd go for the CLS. Buying, probably the GS. But remember that the GS450H and 460 are supposedly coming in the next year.
Just go with whatever you really want. Nothing worse than getting a car and soon thereafter wishing you purchased something else. Good luck.

In all seriousness, styling is subjective. I think the BMW 650 coupe is a fantastic looking car, while others think it's a Bangle mess.

i appreciate all of the feedback. yeah, i've been hearing alot of negative hype about mercedes in general ever since they merged with Chrysler. similar to GM as far as disgruntled employees and poor craftsmanship on their cars. alot of the newer model cars like the ML truck and I believe even the CLS is made here in the US and people blame that fact on poor quality of the cars they are producing now. and the mechanics that these luxury car dealers have now are not as experienced as they used to be and so on and so forth. i plan on leasing and that CLS does have that exotic look but the GS is a damn good car, I had a 94 GS back in the day and I simply loved the vehicle. And I had purchased the new 05 Cadillac STS V8 and I had to give the car back after 4 months because of all the glitches, the car was in the shop about 6 or 7 times and car barely had 800 miles so i don't want to experience that again on 1st year model cars like the CLS but its hard not too flinch at the idea but i think i would be happy either way. although after a year i can see myself getting bored again
