I'm just curious as to how it handles in the snow, although I have no doubt in my mind that it will perform admirably. For those that have been in the snow already, what wheels/tires do you have on it?

Hi Sgt, there have been a couple of posts on this subject.

I went to advanced search and put "awd snow" as the keyword and pointed at the 3GS sub-forum.

Thanks, Dave! I'm already subscribed to those threads, but was just wondering if there were any more recent driver experiences with snow and the AWD.

Thumbs up

Well, we just got our first snow storm here and I decided to take my GS300 AWD to an empty parking lot to have a little fun. I made some figure 8's and full circle turns in 2-3" of snow and the car performed extremely well and when it did happen to lose traction, it was completely predictable. The only time it lost traction was when I gassed it hard while making sharp turns; the slip light would come on for a second and beep, but would turn off as quickly as it came on. Keep in mind that I'm riding on 18's and they're not snow tires. They're fairly wide at 245/40/18, but the Pirelli PZero Neros seems to be able to handle snow just fine. Pushing the SNOW MODE button seemed to make little or no discernable difference; at least not that I could tell. This is the first AWD vehicle I've driven so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, compared to my old '85 Mercedes Benz 300D which was RWD, the difference is like night and day. I feel confident that I can get through the worst snow storms that Mother Nature hurls our way.

for AWD!

It's not bad unless you hit a parked car.
