Default Gs460

I just put down a deposit for a GS430 Black on black. Will pick up the car in two weeks. If the GS460 is not too far off i will wait. When are they planning to launch the GS460 in the US.

I don't know exactly when GS460 is coming, but I would definitely wait. sounds like it should be a beast.

yeah i am pretty surprised at the new output, that's quite a bit of improvement

it really occurs to me now that lexus is putting a lot of focus on power as well -- a good thing!

The GS is fairly new car. I don't see it changing until the 2008 model. Why should they change it in less then a year?

how can you tell? I am hoping for 2007, but I don't think it will release until 2008 model year.... probably releasing in spring 2007.

SICK you probably should've continued this thread (which you also participated in) instead of starting a new one. Merge the threads maybe?

At this point I'm gonna stand by my calculations in that thread.

I'm not surprised Lexus shoehorns in the new 4.6L from the LS. Just look at past history and the changes from the ES300 to ES330 after the first model year.

The biggest question now is whether it will shoehorn the rumored 5.0L from the hybrid LS in the GS as the performance model (maybe a GS500p?)...

How much money will you be willing to put on 397 hp exactly ?
It may not even be true anymore that the new GS will have more hp than the new LS . . .

Yes it will be awesome if the rumor of a 5.0L in the LS hybrid is true. I wonder how much horsepower that 5.0L will be putting out alone. Assuming horsepower is proportional to engine displacement, the 5.0L should have 380hp x 5.0L / 4.6L =~ 413hp. Mated with an electric motor that is supposedly at least as powerful as the ones in the RX400h and GS450h, the LS600h should have around 470hp IMO.

Haha...well, *cough*, hmmmm............ Let me see how much money SICK is putting on his BOLD prediction of 400hp first.

I don't think a V8 5.0 is good for a performance version of the GS anymore if they want to make one. They need a V10 as rumoured for the LF-A (like the M5 & M6). A 5.0 V8 is probably good for a next hp upgrade even further down the road.

I'm putting my official guess in at 390hp.

Quick Reply: So the LS 460 will have around 380hp, so the GS 460 will have....
