HA! I made the bold prediciton, 400hp in the GS 460 months ago. The LS now will have around 380hp and 370lbs torque. The GS has always been rated higher than the LS, since its the sports sedan.

So 400hp is knocking VERY VERY CLOSELY. And at WORST, it will have around 380hp. Which is almost a 30% increase in power!

Lexus is going to do what they should have done all along to the GS. I wonder if the GS will also get the 8 speed auto

I would say yes, the new engine will be paired to the new tranny. Can u say 5 seconds flat.

8 speed tranny? Dang, never heard of that before. IT seems that tranny would have to shift every couple seconds.....Why not just go CVT?

good news. 380-400hp in a GS would be sweet. and an 8 speed that trans must be busy as hell. oh well, it must be reliable or Lex wouldn't put it in production.

The GS460 is going to be fast as hell. Im guessing 0-60 in 5.1-5.3 seconds.

All it needs is a SPORTS PACKAGE that offers stiffer suspension an 19in wheels, and the car would be PERFECT.

I gotta save some $$$$.

I always look at the GS as more of an alternative to the E class more than the 5 series anyway . . .
