Glass Roof ...
The new 2007 ES 350 will have the option of a glass roof!? What is Lexus thinking? The 2006 GS is more expensive and it doesn't have that option.

It's a new idea that Lexus decided to add. Obviously they're gonna try it with their newest released model. Heck even the Scion tC has it standard!

I hope the feature and option set is updated a little for the GS 350 because I don't want to pay $53,000 ( estimate MSRP of a fully loaded 2007 GS 350 w/o PCS and RCC ) for a GS and then not have all the features and options that the ES and IS have.

Well since the glass moonroof wasn't a planned design of the current generation GS, don't expect to see this feature if any until the 4th generation GS 2011 (if that).

Well you still have to pay for it.
BTW, the current E class have the panorama roof as an option since it's launch as a 2003 model, but the 2003-06 S class doesn't have it as an option, so a lower model having an option that the higher model doesn't isn't unheard of at all . . . . . .

The ES can have that feature. I want no part of it

I agree that pic of the glass roof on the ES doesn' t look good at all, but I won't draw any definite conclusions on that glass roof until I get to see it in person both inside & outside the car with the roof in various stages of open/close, & how well it operates . . .

Looks like the one used on the Scion tC. 3 piece glass, first one is a deflector, second is the one mobile glass and the last one is fixed. I don't see how it looks bad. Works like any other 3 piece Panorama roof.

Isn't road noise a big issue with glass roofs? On my 2006 GS300, road noise from the sunroof starts to pick up at about 50mph and above 65 I usually close the sunroof cover to dampen the sound. With a glass roof, is there a cover to close?
