Those blisters can occur on the sidewall when you hit a curb or a pothole too hard.

VERY expensive, I know. I switched mine out for Michelin Pilots (and purchased a tire warranty as well).

Sometimes it's unavoidable. At 5k miles, I had the same problem with my front drivers side tire. But luckily, I have a great dealership, and they replaced the tire for free.

I used to have blisters on the inner sidewall of my 215/35/18's Kumho tires. They're dangerous, manufacturer defects. Over time, depending on air pressure, temperature and driving habits they will occur on a defective tire (seperation of rubber inside the tire). The dealer should replace them under warranty unless your suspension is modified. They can also occur if you hit a curb but most of the time it's because of a mfg. defect.

nardeezy is correct.... the blisters form because the threads in the side walls are split..this is usually a manufacturer defect...but can also happen by hitting a pot hole or curb... I would try to take it to your dealer and see what they say and if they say no then take it to another dealer
