The GS350 is already available in the Japanese market...and has been since Lexus was released there less than 6 months ago. Dealerships get alot of their info through the rumor mill...and many sales people even owners make up their own stories as they really don't want to tell the general public they really don't know. Sad but true. There is a small handful out there that really know whats going on. Sadly that's only like 1 out of 100.

2008 is a real stretch. By this Fall, without update, the GS430 will be upstaged in a number of respects: horsepower, quality of navigation system, facility for IPOD integration and/or availability of hard drive alternative, etc. This would be true both within the Lexus family: LS 460 and IS 350 and externally: BMW 550 and M45. My guess is this Fall or, a the latest, a spring introduction for 2007 model year so as not to upstage the LS 460.

I cant imagine the GS - V6 having LESS HP than the ES and RX which will both get the updated 3.5 V6 with 275HP for 2007.

Is the 3.0 v6 being used in any other vehicle besides the GS???

Just noticed on Lexus.com that there is a lease special going on for the GS, LS, ES, and RX. All of these models are confirmed for updates for 2007 MY.

Looks like the GS350 and GS460 are coming very soon.

Default No ES 350 for me GS 350 is it!

I was considering the ES350 to be my next car because I thought that it should have pretty decent horse power. But now that the pictures are out and I hate the interior, I am almost certain that I'm going to get the GS350 instead.

The GS is a class up from the ES & it's supposed to be more appealing, LOL , also with RWD/AWD & more sporty.

Default We expect to get the GS350 in the fall...

The GS430 is in special order only status now. The GS450h will make the GS430 redundant. The GS350 may not get the exact same engine version as the IS350. The IS350 is the only one that has both port and direct injection. There is a case to be made that the new LS460 powerplant could be employed in a future GS and SC. Let's all keep our fingers crossed...

If the GS460 won't come out for another 2 or 2.5 yrs (based on what I'm reading here) Lexus will have truly either:

a. Fallen waaaay behind in the "Performance Sedan" market. And at the rate designs change these days, the bodystyle will be 3 yrs old already!

b. Moved at their own pace, as they feel their loyal customer base doesn't mind waiting on the performance they should have initially released this year! It would have truly been a great move to launch: GS350, GS430, and GS450h all together with the potent GS460 just one year later (this Fall) as a 2007 model.

I'm pretty sure that Infiniti is fine-tuning a beefier M35 & M45 for a quicker release. Probably the Spring/Summer of next year!

I think that this is a big hint from Lexus that the new engines are coming to the GS this fall.

This is what I think. Since Lexus has just introduced two totally redesigned models(GS and IS) and will introduce two more this year(LS and ES), so they wouldn't have enough new car for change in the upcoming two or three more years. Therefore, engine changes might be the only thing Lexus could do in the coming three years. And they think it is okay to have LS460 and GS430 at the same time since LS is a bigger brother to GS, so it makes sense for GS to have a weaker engine, then probably Lexus would maintain GS430 for at least model year 2007, therefore GS300 would also have to be maintained until GS460 appears because that 3.5L V6 would out-power the 4.3L V8. True, GS300 would be the second weakest engine in the Lexus's car lineup next to IS250. But think about it, if it is okay for 525i to be weaker than 330i, then why not a GS300 weaker than IS350, at least for a while? Lexus is in no hurry, they want to upgrade their lineup step by step so they would have "new" stuff every year. My assumption is that GS460 and GS350 won't come out until model year 2008.

Everything is still conjecture until we get official word from Lexus.
