GS 460 "2008"

2008 makes sense as it is the 3rd year in production cycle for the 3rd gen GS. 3rd year production is when powertrain changes/updates are made in a Toyota/Lexus cycle.

Even if true, a 2008 GS460 does not necessarily mean it will come out Fall of 2007, it may come out Spring of 2007 or even as early as January/February 2007 & still call it a 2008 model . . .

Ok guys a little clarification that gs460 is coming out fall 2008 and will be a 2009. I was told this by the owner of three of the largest lexus dealerships. If you look on l-tunedparts.com the GS430 parts are for 2006-2008 this is a hint

I would be very disappointed myself if the GS350 didn't come out later this year as a 2007 model, and if the upgraded GS460 came out as a 2009. That is just too long to have the old 4.3L engine and the 245HP engine in the GS300. I'm specifically waiting for the GS350 as that or another car is what I want to buy. If it comes out as a 2008 model I'll probabaly get the other car. I know some are saying it doesn't make sense for Lexus to bring out a new engine in the GS300 after 1 year, but if they don't the 2007 RX350 and ES350 will make substantially more power and the GS300 will be the 2nd weakest Lexus V6 next to the IS250.

well, let's just say if the paper was right, then we see new engines this fall
the gs450h will have 3.5 v6 + hybrid, so the 3.5 is already in there. and japan will be selling gs350, i believe it's already on the site. so why would they make gs300 here (need to maintain more lines).
if they go gs350, then i think they really need to have gs460 at the same time, otherwise it's stupid coz' the gs430, being quite a bit more expensive, has less hp and slower. the 460 engine is readily available too anyway

I'd take with a grain of salt what Lexus managers said about the release of the GS460/350 far in advance. If anything they would want to create the impression that they would come later than it really is, so as not to affect the sales of the current GS models, they won't tell you until maybe a couple of months before the new ones are coming . . .
