VDIM vs. VSC
Even if you don't understand Japanese, it is self explanatory.

interesting video to explain the whole concept. i do feel that with the vsc system on my gs400, when it kicks in, it's very sudden and it's almost like an on/off switch. a smoother system between everything, that's a great idea

Inorder to have VDIM you must have...
Electronic Power Steering. VDIM will steer the car up to 2 degrees inorder to stabilize it. VDIM does not wait for the car to get out of shape to make corrections so it feels smooth and natural. It is best demonstrated on fresh fallen snow which is like ball bearings to drive on. It takes a high performance RWD (GS430, IS350, GS450h) and gives it control around turns and braking in slippery conditions. It is a Lexus first. The only VDIM on an AWD is the RX400h which is so confident in slippery conditions that you can't shake it loose. If they decide to add it to the GS350 AWD then you would get both countermeasures in a sports sedan guise. All I can say is it is well worth whatever amount it adds to the sticker.
