There are other aftermarket remote start and alarm systems I have a compu star pro series on my car guarantee it works from further away than the lexus one, Viper has an awesome alarm and 2way pager remote start system that is compatiable with an app for the Iphone and will unlock and start your car from anywhere you have cell service, there are bypass modules for the car that allows the alarm to start the car without hitting the brake and another to bypass the key fob chip so that you don t have to keep a $500 key fob in your dash!

Is this something that a Lexus tech in the US will be familiar with??? I think it would be cool to be able to cool the car down in the summer when the temps get close to 120 deg. I saw few posts about a non Lexus unit, but this is much safer being an oem part. Let us know if you get the kit to work. Also let us know how long it took to install

if your going to carry a remote around you should go ahead and get the two way pager alarm with it i had mine installed for like $800 , you can also pull up to the store hit the remote start while started jump put the car leave it running arm the alarm so you can t steal it come out jump in the car nd keep it moving. Park your car far from where you sleep wont hear your factory alarm no worries with compu star pager works up to 3000 ft pager will buzz even if some just bumps your car wouldn t you want to know

What we have found so far is that this unit is designed in japan not just to add the remote start, but also replace the functions of the remote you already have so that you dont have to carry around 2 remotes.
It has all the pager funtions of an alarm systems with on screen notifications and what not, but the only issue is that in japan this unit is an accesorry that is installed at the dealer. It did not come with any instructions as the dealers just pull up there service bullitens and install at the dealers.
The unit we have hre is for the GS and basically what we were doing at this point is selling it at the exact dealer cost we paid for it, $800.00. But basically you would have to find a shop that can attempt the install. We can even get the install instructions from japan, but they would be in japanese. A good example would be how there are a few members on this board who bought the JDM HID fogs, and found a shop to install them.
As always if anyone is interested or has further questions please feel free to PM or call anytime.
