Oh...and in regards to aftermarket stuff for hybrids...i have seen some and heard of some...but i think ppl will not deal with moding the electric motors because if they mess it up...there goes the car...heh ....i do remember that toyota or some toyota mechanics modded the electric motor on a prius to bring about a crazy amount of power...they said the torque was so strong that it was pushing the drivers into their seats like a porche 911 turbo...haha...dunno about that...but there are stuff in the works cuz hybrid cars may soon be a untapped market into bringing about the best that electric motors/batteries can offer.

No V8 in the GS? Careful, Acura-bashers. Your time may be coming...
[quickie threadjack]
BTW, anyone read in the latest R&T about the LF-A being called the GT450 or GT500? Have I been living under a rock, or is this new?

There is a big power difference between the 350 and 460. Plus I believe the GS has a wieght advantage over most of its competitors as well(besides the 5-series). I'm thinking of a 5 sec flat run with 4.8sec at best.
I believe the new 550i's are around 5.2 sec or so....
EDIT: actually it does have a weight advantage....as little as a 100lbs to around 250+.

That GS350 0-60 time is extrapolated from the IS350's. Given the extra weight and more lethargic transmission of the GS, something tells me that 5.6 is pretty optimistic. I'm thinking more like 5.8-5.9 for the GS350 and 5.2-5.4 for the GS460. I know that makes the GS460 collide with the GS450h from a stats perspective, but I'd be really surprised if a 4.6L V8 could get the GS under 5 seconds. Here's hoping, but realistically I doubt it...

Otherwise, mechanically, the GS350 and the IS350 are very much identical cars with just different wheelbases and weights. There's nothing wrong with extrapolation here.

Like I said, I could be wrong about both of my assertions, and I'd be happy if I were, but realistically I think those numbers are quite optimistic. I'd love to see a sub-5.0 factory GS. I guess we'll just have to wait until early next year and see...
