Default New GS300 Bluetooth Phone Questions

I have just bought a Sept 2005 new model GS300 and am having some challenges with the bluetooth phone.

Firstly when I call from my mobile (as opposed to the touch screen) you cannot hear the ringtone at the other end but once it is answered it appears on the screen and comes through the speakers. I tried the same thing on a loan IS250 and could hear the ringtone fine.

Secondly when I make or receive a call it connects at full volume but I really cannot hear what the other person is saying unless I am stationary. Again I tried the same thing on a loan IS250 and the volume level was fine.

Thirdly when I receive a call, it appears on the screen but only my mobile ringtone can be heard (nothing comes through the speakers). Again I tried the same thing on my loan IS250 and a ringtone could also be heard through the speakers.

is anyone else having these problems???

The 06 IS has a generation 5 navigation/bluetooth system whil your GX has a generation 4 system. That could be part of the problem. The volumn level for outgoing and incoming calls can be adjusted, but you have to go into the computers software to do it and I can't advise you how to do it.

Talking Bluetooth volume adjust, how to do it !

YES, you can adjust the volume control through the software, and it is very easy!

You can actually change the mic level and speaker levels of the Bluetooth in the hidden Lexus diagnostic service menu.

Place the car in accessory mode (press start without pressing the brake). Now press the DISP button next to the NAV screen. On the NAV screen tap the upper left part of the screen and then the lower left part of the screen -- back and forth about 5 times and you will now be in the Lexus diagnostic screen.

From there you can change the Bluetooth mic and playback levels. Try increasing both the mic level and the playback level by +2 increments.

BTW, I have not yet figured out how to escape this screen. Only way is to press the start button again to get out of accessory mode.

Enjoy!

can this be done in non-nav models?? "Place the car in accessory mode (press start without pressing the brake). Now press the DISP button next to the NAV screen.
