but you're only one person. some people need a car now and that's not going to affect anything. just look at the people on the board who've bought a 300 because they couldn't wait for the 350.

1st. Luxury SUV hybrid
1st RWD Luxury Sport hybrid
1st Longitudually mounted CVT in the GS450h
1st AWD luxury sedan hybrid
1st V-8 Hybrid

Those are some of the Lexus "h" firsts

Lexus is a very progressive company and clearly with BMW and Benz, dominating the luxury car market.

Lexus wants to sell cars now. If they officially announced the 2007 GS 350, the people who could wait would wait. Lexus wants the people who can wait to buy the 2006 GS 300 now. You can't draw any conclusions from the Club Lexus 3GS Forum because the sample size is way too small and it's not representative of the larger population ( the people who aren't on the Club Lexus 3GS Forum ).

that's exactly my point....and the general population won't wait for a car like that. they could care less.

it's exactly like 4TehNguyen said. a new release car model won't hurt sales of the previous year. you think that just because honda says there's a new accord coming around, that people will wait for it??? no, not really.

Who would want a 245 HP 2006 GS 300 when they could wait three months and get a 300+ HP 2007 GS 350 instead? Yes, there are a lot of people who don't care, but there are also a lot of people who do. Lexus is keeping the announcement of the 2007 GS 350 under wraps in hopes of getting as many people to buy the 2006 GS 300 now ( even the people who could wait and care about the new engine ). Someone who wants a GS 350 is more willing to buy a 2006 GS 300 now if the release of the GS 350 is a uncertainty. If that same person is sure that the GS 350 will be out this fall, they’ll be more willing to wait for it.

lexus doesn't work like that. they won't release this car in three months with no press release or news about it. and i GUARANTEE that they're not doing it because it will deter sales from the gs300.

the majority of the people buying this car could care less about more power and a new nav system.

name ONE lexus that was kept under wraps until 3 months before the release date?

The completely redesigned new ES350 was kept under wraps until February 7 this year when it was unveiled in the Chicago Autoshow.

The changes for the 2007 Camry Solara were announced on May 26, 2006 and the car goes on sale in early June. Lexus officially announced the engine change in the 2007 RX on February 21, 2006 and the SUV went on sale on February 24, 2006.

In that case, a GS600h will definitely serve better as a grand tourer than a V10 GS as it offers more refinement, but it won't be nearly as exciting as a V10 GS for sure.
you read my mind man, if anything i think lexus is going amg route, i really don't see lexus touching the m series route. so in that case, v8 hybrid start to make sense to me

A couple of things I hope the GS 350/460 has.
1. The paddle shifters from the IS. I don't know why the 2GS and 1IS both have e-shift, but the 2IS has paddleshift and the GS does not. I prefer to shift on the steering wheel, not with the gearbox.
2. I hope the AAAS (active suspension) is available on ALL models. From talking to Nuum and reading Rockville's posts, it really tightens up handling.
3. MP3 player outlet. Yeah, its ghey we are complaining about it but it should have one. The LS will have it, the IS has it and I think the ES has it. Why not the GS?

hey good points you have there mike, i wonder a lot about the aux outlet too. not seeing it in the gs450h, i am very surprised

about the paddleshift, maybe they don't want to make the car look that sporty? dunno, just a guess. for sure it' nice touch though
