I'm just glad they are not making GS600HL to compete with E63 and M5, because that would have been REAL shame (with that stupid transmission and all)... Kinda like LS600HL competeing with S600 and 760Li. Couple years ago, all the talk was about how the Hybrid being there new "Performance Line", NOT (tree hugher line is more like it)!!! Thumbs up for trying the "F" series, but I think it would have been better if they just used L-tuned for the New Performance Line, with more aggressive body kit to go along with the performance, along the line of "AMG" and "M" cars...

Man i cant wait to see the "new" minor revised front and back of the 08' GS in the flesh. With the couple of brand new things that are going to be in the 08' model, it should be interesting.
On a side note, If they do an actual refresh on the 09' model, id like the inside center stack to be more upscale and less plasticy, preferably similar to how the LS/ES stack is with a rich look. The IS with its metallic silver look on its center stack looks really good too. Thats how lexus should do the refresh for the interior.

As for low 5's or high 4's with mid 13's, I think the GS350 has set the bar a bit higher for the GS460. I just hope that performance wise, there is still a reasonable gap that seperates the GS 6cyl from the V8, and we already know that the GS350 AWD can pull off high 13's.

This is exciting news. Cant wait to see what this engine can do in a much lighter package.
Yea, I personally think its not coming anytime soon (if it even happens). That Autoweek article where they mentioned it messed us all up. I always thought it was a typo or they were just referring to the LS600hL (or a combination of both).

It consistently pops up as a rumour on certain internet sites. A few publications have also posted this rumour. It remains mostly speculation as of now. This rumour does make sense due to the fact that the LS hybrid uses a mechanical AWD system. That AWD would have no problem handling the power of the LS460 and it's also quite compact.
So no official confirmation yet or anything from direct reliable sources, but it is a very likely possibility given that a suitable AWD system is already available and only needs to be put into the LS460 as an option.

i think that the 460 will do much harm to the 450h sales. One of the strong selling points of the hybrid is that you where getting the phatest/fastest model in addition to the whole "green" thing... I liked the idea of the 450h and ls600h being the flagship models... Too bad they think differently... I mean it made lexus look good compared to the german trio... my 2 cents...
